BOOKS THAT DIDN'T LIVE UP TO THE HYPE

Gwynneth writes . . .

It's that time again.

Over the months Seth and Erin have done a great job managing this blog, but for today you have me because I would like a chance to get to know you too. With that in mind I will be handling all the Feature and Follow Fridays hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read

For those who miss Erin and Seth, don't despair! They will be back with you on Monday with a review of Jennifer Ford's cleverly crafted fantasy The Waking Dream

They will also be doing an author's interview and their usual character interviews. And for those who love giveaways (who doesn't!) Jennifer Ford is also donating  a hard copy and an eBOOK to two lucky winners. So watch this spot.

Okay, now for today's question.

Q: What hyped up book do you think was not worth all the talk?

I didn't even have to think about that one . . .

These two books disappointed me so much that I wont be reading the final one in the series.

Matched, although exciting in its premise, seemed like a rip-off of The Giver. And then Cassia and Ky climbed that mountain one too many times . . .

Crossed? Who stops to read poetry when you are being hunted by determined killers?

And so we part company.

What about you?

Cheers

Gwynneth

  1. Hahaha, that does seem like a stupid moment to start reading poetry. Sometimes authors are just too fanciful in their fantasy, ignoring what is logical. I was really disappointed in The Mortal Instruments series, although I started reading it for Jonathan Rhys Meyers! Thanks for sharing :)

  2. I started reading Crossed and had to take a break. I want to read the rest of it, but at the moment there are a ton of wonderful books out there that have me distracted. The poetry thing got to me too and I know what you mean about the mountain in Matched :D

  3. That's a pity - I quite enjoyed Matched, although I can't comment on Crossed because I haven't gotten my grubby little hands on a copy yet.

Thanks for stopping by my blog Gwynneth - it's always great to meet new bloggers and authors, especially from SA!

  4. Never read this series myself. It didn't really appeal to me when it came out. Guess I wasn't missing much.

    Here's my Follow Friday

    Have a GREAT weekend!

  5. I heard that too! I wanted to read this series, but I keep just hearing so many bad things about it. Not going to start it! Too many great books out there.

  7. *laughs* I feel exactly the same about Matched... all I could think the whole time I read it was "The Giver?... but poorly done??" Yeah, I stopped at the first book, I won't be reading more.
