Wow! We've joined a MEME!

Erin writes . . .

As you know if you follow this blog, Seth is not the keenest blogger out there, but I've been working on him to get with the program by joining a weekly meme. Jup, you guessed, it wasn't an easy sell. (There's an understatement) But I finally managed to persuade him. (Girls rule, right!) And one of the memes we have chosen is:

Follow Friday is hosted Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. It's a great way to meet new blogger friends, and part of the fun includes answering a question each week.

This week the question is: Q: Christmas in July! Someone gives you a gift card for two books (whatever that costs). What two books will you buy?

Obviously, because Seth and I are soul mates, we'll share the money. So Seth gets to choose one book, and I get to choose the other.

So, Seth, what would you pick?

Seth writes . . .
Hmm . . . Tough one. But I think I'd save my cash until Ruins by Orson Scott Card comes out in October. It's part two in the Pathfinder series. And I thought Pathfinder was THE read of 2012 for me. I've still got to review it for you guys.

And you, Erin? Let me guess, a forgotten Jane Austen some historian found rotting in a desk drawer somewhere.

Very funny, Seth.  Or not . . .  But I think I would choose the Princess Bride by William Goldman. It's been on my TBR for ages. And Seth, stop rolling your eyes. I like a bit romance with my action . . . as you well know.

Yeah . . . As I well know. In fact, did you guys know that Erin kissed me first? I was still contemplating all the consequences of kissing her when she made up my mind for me.

Fat lot of good it did me! As our readers will discover when you read Pledged.

Anyway, back to Follow Friday . . .

So readers, what about you? What two books would you buy?

I haven't read any of Card's books but my husband really enjoyed Ender's Game. Maybe I should tell him there's a new series.
